It never fails,  you will reach that moment in your business when you run out of business opportunity leads.

Frustration comes over you.. as it seems like the techniques that worked to get your where you are.. simply do not work any longer.

I still remember when I started my first business.. I was surrounded by friends and loved ones who wanted nothing more then to support me.  They invested into my business by either buying what I was offering or joining me my venture.

Then it happened.. you know.. that moment when I ran out of friends and loved ones.. to introduce to my business.  I thought to myself.. if I could only run a commercial on TV like McDonalds.. or better yet.. if I could only afford one of those billboards.. so that when people are driving down the road.. they can call my 1-800 number.. Better yet.. what if I could get a full page spread in Ebony or Forbes Magazine..

… as I looked at my bank account I realized I wasn’t one of those big time marketers that had the pull to get on TV or on the major highway billboards in the ATL, or in National magazines.  Yet wait.. it was at that moment.. I realized I was not a MARKETER at all!!

Ok.. Ok.. I know I just dated myself.. yet hey back when I started needing business opportunity leads those were the best ways to get your biz in front of people..

So my next step was to start buying the best home based business leads that I could find.  How did I know they were the best?? Well my upline told me that they were, so when I purchased them.. I had all confidence they would join me or support me by purchasing just like my friends and loved ones had in the past.  Yet guess what that didn’t happen.

I searched hi and low for business leads that would convert at the site of my offer.  Yes at FIRST SITE!  See I didn’t understand anything about what it took to grow a business.  All I knew is when I offered a service and a person used my service that I would create an income.  Yet how to get the people to actually take advantage of my service.. or even know it was available to them was where I fell short.

It was at this moment that I realized what I really needed.. thank God the internet was available for me at that moment as well.. so how I set things up was something that literally any business owner can do in order to obtain business opportunity leads on a daily basis, just like I do today.  There are a few steps that are MUST if you are going to set your business up for success with amazing lead generation.. especially if your success is based on how many targeted prospects look at what you are offering. Kind of like I talk directly to single moms.. one of my target markets.

One thing that you might not realize is that your product or service is not for everyone.

When I first started my business.. I remember thinking this is for EVERYONE and ANYONE.. and showed my service and products to everyone around me.. yet found myself dealing with a lot of rejection.  Are you dealing with a lot of rejection? It could be due to the fact that you are talking to people that simply are not interested in what you are offering.  See one thing I found hard to believe at the beginning was that EVERYONE is not meant to have my service or my products.

I know right now you are like, “Whatever Shalonda!!! My product and/or service is for every body”.  Ok… keep believing that.. and keep wasting precious time talking to everyone..

I don’t know about you yet I do not have time share my service and/or products with people who simply are never going to take action.. Do YOU???

So I will say it again.. if you are marketing to everyone.. then you are marketing to NO BODY!!

Tell me.. who is your target market?  Who exactly are you talking to? See you are reading this post because I reached out to my target market. When it comes to lead generation knowing your target market is crucial.

So follow ask yourself these questions in order to determine your target market:

1. What problem does your product/service solve?

2. Who deals with the problem that your service/product solves?

3. List every group of people that your product/service will supply a solution for them.

Ok.. here is an example.

Product/Service: A product that helps people lose weight.

People who desire to lose weight will use this product.

Target Markets: Women who want to lose weight, Men who want to lose weight, Parents who want their kids to lose weight

But WAIT.. there’s one more step.. #4 and it’s VERY important.. so pay close attention.

Make sure your target market is a group that YOU have a story to tell them..   one that will allow them to relate to you and want to take action with you. A story that will allow you to  resonate with those that were meant to lock arms with you on their journey.

Now it is time to offer something free.  Now I’m not talking about free samples.  I’m talking about some valuable free information.  Like a video, or a free report, or a free Ebook.. something like that.  Ok.. let me explain the WHY behind offering something for free.

You want to give away something free so that you can obtain something! See you want to capture as many email addresses as possible.  So before throwing your service and/or product out there you want to make sure you have the prospects email address. This way you can complete step 3.. yet will get to that soon enough.

So how do you set up a free offer? It is actually very simple.

You want your free offer to discuss the problem.. and why it is a problem.  Then you want to share the solution.. and the results and testimonies of the solution.

Now by now you realize that the solution is your service or product.

Types of Free offers

*1. Video – Turn on the webcam and  give valuable information.  Load this video to Youtube, and take the link and embed it onto your branding station.

2. Free Report – Simply write up about a 2-3 page value packed report and place it on a hidden page on your branding station.

So the process looks like this….

You post your capture page in a location where the people who have the problem that you have a solution to, hang out. For example a forum of people talking about losing weight.. if your product is a weight loss product. Or a group of working parents if you offer a Nanny service. Now the “Capture Page” is a page that captures a persons email address, name and phone number.  Most of the time I just ask for an email.. data shows that people are more apt to give you their email if they do not have to tell you their name.  Why?  I don’t know.. the numbers just prove it there for I go with the numbers that bring the best results.

Note: Before you give away anything you request an email address.  It is the least you can ask, for the valuable information you are giving out. Remember that we are running “For Profit” businesses, not “Non-Profit” businesses.  So always request an email for your Free Offer.

Once your prospects places their email on your Capture Page they will then be directed to the free offer that you promised.  Make sure to always keep your word.  If you are offering a free report, give them the report.  If you are offering a video, give them a video.  This is your first step to building trust with your prospect.

Now you have the prospects email address and they are connecting with you through your free offer.  So it’s time to follow up with them via email.  I use a system that automates this entire process.  Depending on your budget you can either use two systems, like I do.
